With Milwaukee Public Schools announcing that they will be open for in-person learning five days a week this fall, the task now is to get 100% staffed – and all positions are available.

The district makes the process easier for applicants whose next career may be just a click away.

After more than a year of dealing with a pandemic, schools are ready to return to normal and people are returning to work or even looking for other career paths.

“We need people to come and join our team,” said Michael Harris, senior director of talent management at MPS. He is delighted to share a host of available opportunities.

“We are looking to hire catering services, building service aides, nurses, paraprofessionals who are those teacher assistants who work in the classroom, of course, teachers and specialist fields such as art, music. , physical education, bilingual teachers and language teachers. “

Candidates were able to learn all about the positions at a virtual recruiting event. The digital platform added a bonus to the process.

“We want to reach out to a larger community, don’t we, we want to make sure we’re reaching everyone,” Harris said.
