Meet Metro’s Employees of the Month for March 2022
Each month, Metro and the Metro Board of Directors honor employees who make a remarkable contribution to the smooth operation of our bus and train system.
Please meet this month’s two winners – who received their awards at their workplace from Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins.
In the top video, we pay tribute to Eleanor Orozco, Main Service Attendant at our Division 1 bus facility in downtown Los Angeles. Eleanor has worked at Metro for 11 years.
In the bottom video, we pay tribute to Tamara Moten, a bus driver who works at our Division 8 bus facility in Chatsworth. Tamara has been a Metro employee for 24 years.
Thank you to all of our Operations staff who work 24/7/365!
And this: Metro currently hires over 500 bus operators and offers a $3,000 bonus to get on board. It’s a great career opportunity. Metro offers competitive hourly rates starting at $17.75 for a 30-hour job as bus operators with benefits including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid training, pension plan and flexible working hours. Please encourage friends, family and community members to be part of the Metro team that provides excellence in service and support and keeps our region moving. Apply at metro.net/driveLA.
As you may recall, earlier this month we celebrated Transit Operator Appreciation Day – and Metro Supervisor and Board Member Holly Mitchell brought a line drums to honor one of them. Watch the video :
Subway operators like Tanesha help more than 800,000 residents get to their destination every day. Today, on Transit Operator Appreciation Day, join me in showing your love to the more than 3,400 women and men who keep our transit system running. pic.twitter.com/Z7A9kTsnH1

The LA Kings also contributed – in a big way to show their love for transit operators.
In honor of Transit Driver Appreciation Day earlier this month, the @LAKings provided Metro bus and train operators with good attendance with game tickets! Thank you to our operators for their commitment to our riders! pic.twitter.com/cZwVszQUn8
