As millions of students graduate and seek employment, RENTCaf̩ analyzed data from BLS to reveal the fastest growing, highest-paying, and most popular jobs in 2021, and the subways where new graduates have the best way to land them Рwith little or no experience and a college degree.

Recent reports show employers plan to hire 7.2% more 2021 college graduates than they did in 2020 and the average starting salaries for recent bachelor’s graduates are should increase. And, one industry, in particular, is booming with demand for jobs and promising financial benefits: health.

Jobs in the medical field occupy the top three places on the list of the most popular jobs of 2021, outclassing computer jobs. To rank the most popular jobs for recent college graduates, we turned to the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to see which positions are expected to grow the most this decade and what the median annual salary is for each job. Notably, although the median salary is not directly correlated with the starting salary, it provides a measure of the earning capacity of each job. And, since we’re talking about fresh-faced graduates, we’ve only included jobs that require a bachelor’s, master’s, or associate’s degree and less than 5 years of experience or none, depending on the BLS classification. The fastest growing jobs with the highest wages, which met our criteria for education and experience, received an “opportunity score”.

Here are the highlights of the Phoenix metro area:

• Recent graduates may find an above-average number of interesting jobs in the area – 80 per 1,000. For comparison, the national average is 75, while the No.1 area, Silicon Valley, in account 198.

• In the Phoenix metro area, sales manager jobs are most graduate-friendly, based on projected growth and a median salary of $ 130,200.

• Jobs for medical and health service managers are the second most popular, almost in line with the national trend as these jobs are the third most popular nationwide.

• Most of the jobs are in the Software Developer and QA Analyst category – 12 per 1000. This is not surprising, as this is the 4th job nationwide.

Pandemic demand intensifies for health professions

The next two fastest growing jobs for college graduates in 2021 are also in medical and not in doctor jobs. Also in the Top 10 is a healthcare job that promises nearly $ 174,800 – the highest median annual salary on the list – nurse anesthetist (to increase by 13.7%).

Meanwhile, STEM-related majors maintain their popularity among college students, given strong employer demand and advancements in technology. In fourth place are software developers, is expected to grow by 21.5% by the end of the decade.
