We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Assistant to join our dynamic communications team at North London Waste Authority (NLWA).

The role

In this role, you provide communications and administrative support to enable the successful implementation of our communications strategy which includes proactive public relations, social media activity, campaigns, design and printing and communications. internal. This is a multi-faceted and exciting position for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, creative environment with the ability to bring ideas into a busy communications team.

In this role, you will support the day-to-day management of NLWA’s social media accounts (@connectNLWA) to help deliver organic content and paid campaigns. You will also help maintain the NLWA press release schedule, playing a supporting role in ensuring press goals are met each week, writing and editing high quality, proactive press releases, and monitoring and providing regular reports on media and social coverage.

You will be based at the NLWA office in Tottenham Hale, but you may need to visit other locations in North London, for example to provide support for communication meetings with the Seven Boroughs of North London. Remote work options will also be available.

About you

Experience using social media in a communications setting is a must for this role, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You need to demonstrate good attention to detail and a willingness to develop and learn within a small but busy communications team.

Demonstrated good organizational skills and an ability to manage often conflicting demands and prioritize accordingly are also essential, as well as the ability to maintain a wide range of record keeping, both computerized and manual.
