We are looking for a number of UAV Aircraft Technicians at various levels, including a manager for this new role. In this role, you will play a critical role in defining the maintenance team, processes and manuals for our Unmanned Aerial Systems Maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for aircraft technicians from military or civilian backgrounds to apply their skills and experience to shape a whole new section within our company. The role will include an excellent mix of hands-on maintenance and management of related activities, processes and equipment.

We plan to service our vehicles at our Cowley and Kidlington sites and the role will also involve travel to our test and demo sites in the UK and overseas.

To this end, applicants must be willing to travel as part of the role!

Senior UAV Aircraft Technician

Responsibilities… what are you going to do?

  • Manage the continuing airworthiness and practical maintenance of our air vehicle development fleet
  • Management and supervision of the team of UAV Aircraft Technicians
  • Development of manuals and processes related to the maintenance of air vehicles
  • Recording and managing air vehicle maintenance on our cloud-based maintenance tracking tool
  • Management of the maintenance facilities of our new workshop

Essential skills and experience… what are we looking for?

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Licensed aeronautical engineer with supervisory clearances or equivalent military experience
  • Experience writing or managing maintenance manuals and processes
  • Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
  • Highly motivated with minimal supervision needed to complete tasks
  • Good communication skills with a proactive approach to work and workload management

Desired skills and experience:

  • Experience in resolving fault issues on new systems or aircraft
  • Technical writing of maintenance manuals according to S1000D standards
  • Quality Assurance/CAMO of maintenance activities

UAV Aircraft Technician

Responsibilities… what are you going to do?

  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of our air vehicle development fleet
  • Contribute to the content and quality of maintenance manuals
  • Recording of air vehicle maintenance on our cloud-based maintenance tracking tool
  • Proactively report new defects to design engineers so that new procedures can be produced

Essential skills and experience… what are we looking for?

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Licensed Aeronautical Engineer or equivalent experienced military aeronautical engineer with hands-on aircraft or UAV maintenance experience
  • Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team of engineers
  • Highly motivated with minimal supervision needed to complete tasks
  • Good communication skills with a proactive approach to work and workload management

Desired skills and experience:

  • Experience in resolving fault issues on new systems or aircraft
  • Quality Assurance/CAMO of maintenance activities
  • Report breakdowns or problems with maintenance procedures
